Lir Women in Technical Theatre Roadshow
Date: 8th November Cost: FREE Location: Dunamaise Arts Centre The Women in Technical Theatre Roadshow engages female pupils from secondary level through a practical workshop that shows how lighting, sound and stage management skills serve live performance. These workshops are delivered by industry professionals who have studied at The Lir Academy. A facilitator from the Abbey leads the performance element. The process uses a carousel approach giving small groups of students an equal chance to explore how lighting, sound support and stage management enhance a short scene. The groups move round a series of stations and also learn the scene. The second half of the workshop is like a series of mini-techs where they get a chance to stage the scene.
